Homemade Bath Scrubs!

Have you ever used a homemade bath scrub? Well, if you haven't you're missing out BIG TIME!

My mom use to make natural, homemade foot scrubs and foot soaks for a salon here in town, and they were Awesome! She doesn't sell the scrubs anymore, but we still keep our own stash here at the house. (There are six females in this household and we love to feel pampered, LOL!)

There are a couple of different ways that you can make bath scrub, and, just to let you know, there really isn't a wrong way in making it. Some people use salt, others use sugar... Personally I like to use salt because I know that it's actually cleaning and purifying my skin while scrubbing. Killing two birds with one stone so to speak.

I found this video on how to make homemade scrub from The Bulk Herb Store's website. I use this website all the time to research herbs and natural health remedies. Shoshana, the owner of the shop, is like my herb mentor! She is crazy fun and I absolutely adore her!

To use bath scrub you wet yourself with warm water, then scoop about a tablespoon of scrub into your hand and rub it into your skin in circular motions. NOTE: You don't have to rub very hard, and try to keep the scrub away from the sensitive area around your eyes.
After you have scrubbed your skin, rinse the salt off with warm water. You're probably going to feel a little oily, but that's a good thing... don't try to rub it off. Take a towel and pat your skin dry.
After a while the oils will balance out. They're there to help your skin seal in moisture.

Now that you know how to use it... watch the video, make some scrub, and feel the HUGE difference between store bought products and natural products! After your first bath with this stuff you'll never, voluntarily, go back to using store bought scrubs again! : )

P.S.
Shoshana keeps her scrubs in those little canning jars, but you can use any kind of container, really.
We use a couple of  ornate glass containers here at home... the kind that have a rubber seal around the lid.  They kind of look like crystal jars...You can find them at the dollar stores sometimes. They look beautiful sitting on the bathroom counter, or wrapped up in tissue paper as a gift.
  Just a thought : )

It was cold, it almost rained, not very many people went, but at least I know what to expect for next time. Here are some pics of my table.

These are a couple of treasuries I put together last night. All of these listings come from some really cool shops. Check them out and let me know what you think of them.
